Extract from the introduction of the exhibition "VOLTI E TESTIMONIANZE DELL’AMORE POSSIBILE" ("Faces and Testimonies of Impossible Love").

A visual journey that tries to near the visitor to the Christian concepts of CHARITY and MERCY and to the effects of their implementation in the community, in particular that of Mondovì. It is divided into four sections:

-The first section introduces the subject - it opens with the oldest and most complete reproduction of The Seven Works of Charity held in Mondovì, depicted in the frescoes of the church of San Fiorenzo di Bastia (fourteenth century) and continues with a predominantly historical text;

-The second is dedicated to the portrays of the benefactors of the ancient town hospitals, shown in sequence as in a tunnel. From the tunnel of faces, the visitor accesses the theme rooms.

-The third is a reference to the figure of Mons. Michele Casati, Bishop of Mondovì in the second half of the eighteenth century, promoter of many charitable undertakings and author of an important Catechism;

-The last section shows works belonging to the Confraternity of Mercy in Mondovì Piazza, a charitable institution of medieval origins, still existing today and particularly devoted to giving assistance to prisoners condemned to death;

The exhibition is completed with a book that explores the subjects of the visual journey, and that is intended to be a tool for all those that want to expand their knowledge of the history of Mondovì.“
